Um, ya. I’m a little psyched about the new house. I don’t know if you’ve checked out FloorPlanner.com, but they are fun. Scott and I took measurements at the home inspection last week, and I got to lay the whole thing out to make sure all of our new changes would work. We are thinking of taking out a wall and buying a shelving system for the office/playroom and I just wanted to make sure it all worked.

Then I got totally carried away.

There are a few things you might need to know. The white bars between rooms are pretty much the absence of a door- just entryways. The flooring doesn’t break or anything. Another thing with the flooring- this is just stock stuff out of floorplanner, I haven’t committed to which way the wood is running or anything like that. These are future plans, so for now there is carpet everywhere, and a wall separating the kitchen from the rest of the house. The white thing on top of the dining table is a ceiling light fixture. The rugs are just placeholders. I haven’t put in the outdoor spaces or laid out the garage yet, but I’m sure that will happen. It’s addictive, I tell you!

Some amazing stuff about this house- the enormous guest bedroom (Ben’s bedroom is smaller because of a roofing issue- made expanding it crazy expensive so she didn’t remodel it with everything else). The enormous closet in the guest bedroom! Seven by seven! The enormous garage. The enormous master bath that is nearly the largest room in the house! The closet in the master bath? This house is just so different. But I really love the flow and the layout and I think we and our future guests are going to love it.

And… check out the 3D! Frustrating to use, but I still geek out and spend forever trying to look at this or that angle…

Okay am I the biggest nerd or what? I don’t even want to tell you that I wasted like half a day doing this when I definitely had other things on the to-do list. I was just hooked! It was so helpful to see how everything was going to fit. It was helpful to see that it was going to fit, at all! Can’t wait to show you some before and afters. We probably have six to seven more weeks before move in. Most likely with a lot less stuff than is shown in these photos, too. I have some Craigslistin’ to do pretty soon here…

Happy Friday! Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend! I get to take a solo trip to see my friend Kelly. A much needed break for girl time. So excited!!
